I love making things, I love making things with people, i love people that make things.
Creating and making is empowering. Making things together connects people. I love the essence of Accidental making communities. I want to create a place for making, I want to empower people to make things.
This is an archive of things I made intuitively without setting a high standard but focusing on the making itself. That’s why there aren’t particular good photos of these things, they just live around me.
I wanted to put them into one place, a personal making archive to see it in a bigger picture.
This site had a different format before, when I showed it to my friend Seongil he scrolled through and laughed and said: Rike, this looks like one of your drawers, I love it but there is so much going on. So I restructured it into something new: something more like a blog, capturing the context and stories that accompany the made things. It’s under development.

Safari collection, 2021
A series of clay pieces that use different clay types to create safari pattens. The photos were an experiment of double exposure of the pieces and places in brandenburg.
Cereal bowl, 2022
I like glazing, you never know what comes out when the pieces get fired. Unfired they all look similar, pastely white. The firing changes everything, sometimes it’s exciting sometimes it’s disappointing.
Patterns, 2022
I sketch to focus my mind. It’s a process without a vision of an outcome. The outcome doesn’t matter, it‘s the repetitive movement and intuitive Color arrangements that make me focus. Sometimes I’m exhausted afterwards.
Marbled cups, 2022
I made a series of cups, plates and vases using clay in layers and make them appear as stone or marble. It’s a relict from my layered paper explorations during my time at the Royal college of Art. I transferred the process and aesthetic into clay.I should take better photos of them.
Carpet 03, 2023
I got a tufting gun from my friends as a birthday present, it was the best present. I spent the winter making carpets. I made them in my bedroom. It left the memory of threads on the floor and spitting out pieces of wool. It’s better to have a different space.
Food arrangement with Julie, 2022
A Christmas dinner party for our friends. Potatoes as candle holders and leak as flowers. The table became the central part of the party, a continuous snacking adventure until people wore cale leafs as hats.
Hairy pot, 2022
Experiments with glazing.

Postcards, 2021

Flowers & vases, 2023
I learned to love flower buckets, I made some vases for them.
Food arrangements 2, 2022
As a group of friends we have the tradition of starting the summer with a picnic, they are all great chefs. This year we missed it until later in the year and summer never really came until then. These photos are from my birthday picnic last year. No one ate the eggs as they were perceived as decoration.
WearabLes, 2022/23
A random collection of images I found of things I personalised for wearing.
Knifes, 2022
A perfectly shaped knife handle that fits my hands. Another precise in precise object.
Watch face, 2023
I made this watch face for my Garmin running watch. Something so precise in wifely lines, sometimes I mix up numbers, but it doesn’t really matter in the end.
Coloured wood & stones, 2019
A summer holiday where I had a scooter accident and couldn’t go swimming. Me and Greta collected pieces of wood and painted them. It became a holiday tradition.
Fun clay font for village boy, 2021
Check out village boy, it’s great. I made this font out of clay to be used on a poster.
Carpet 05, 2022
A carpet for my niece Greta, she loved it so much she took it in her suitcase to their holidays and put it under a tree.
Farewell party present for lucien, 2023
I find food in animal shapes fascinating, one day I want to make a dinner party where all food takes on different snaps.
In Germany you can find a lot of it, I created a telegram sticker set, write me an email if you want to use it.
Sketches, 2023
Just sketching along and combining colors.
Light installation, 2023
A light arrangement in my parents garden and two images as inspiration.
